A Fond Farewell

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to bring Words of Wisdom to an end. It has been an honor to meet so many deserving Bloggers of Note and other wonderful bloggers of substance. However, interest in WOW has been waning in recent months and we are also finding it more and more difficult to maintain the level of commitment it takes to run it.

We have truly enjoyed our time as WOW's administrators. We sincerely hope, that through participation in WOW, you have found other like minded bloggers of substance. If so, we feel we have achieved our main goal.

Best of luck to you all as you continue your journey in the blogosphere. We are so pleased to have taken a small part of that journey with you.

I was told that I was the type of person that could think of more ideas in 3 minutes than anyone could ever possibly execute in 3 years! As I look back on my life, and reminisce about all of the ideas I’ve had (both lost & tossed), I realize the one thing that's been a constant for me is writing. I guess blogging just seems like it might be a good fit.

Right now, I’m passionate about moving my family towards a more simple, frugal, and green existence... Hence, Sofia’s Ideas on Simplicity, Frugality, and Frivolity, all with an Eco-mentality.

Hello to all. What can I say other than I love writing, and started researching blogs specifically looking for original writes and poets about a year ago? Rather than give you my academic resume for a detailed history of how I arrived at writing. I hope the content of my Blog speaks for itself. However, I will say the focus of my blog has been poetry and shorter verse. I do touch on autobiography, philosophy, humor and other subject matter occasionally. I am currently looking for a publisher for a children's book and a novella. If I don't have any luck finding a publisher I will make the same leap that so many others fine writers have made lately and discover the self publishing process. Hopefully my blog continues to help me find and communicate with like minded writers, poets, artists, and along the way pushes me to produce a wider variety of good writing. I hope you are moved or inspired by my work. I hope to be moved by yours as well.

I consider myself an average type of person (well, sort of). I have a great career, engaging hobbies, a loving wife, child, friends and extended family – it should be enough to live a satisfying life. But somehow, somewhere along the way, the voice in my heart called me along on a new pilgrimage, an adventure to discover who I truly am. As Carl Jung wrote, at some point in our lives “the glowing coals of consciousness buried deep within the personality begin to break into flames.”

My website is an invitation for you to come along on my journey to live with intention as I discover, by practice, trial and error, how to foster my body, mind, heart and soul through Sacred Disciplines. So please, pull up a chair – the fire is raging!

Today's Blogger of Note is Stranger Than Diction.

I began my 'Stranger Than Diction' blog when I realized I wanted somebody besides me and my family to read my original story 'More Than A Feeling' whose characters are loosely based on myself, my husband, my son and his friends who are very much a part fo our family.

I hope you enjoy the mother-daughter team of Marianne and Susie -- as well as the O'Neil brothers and the rest of the cast -- and that you enjoy visiting the fictional southern California seaside town of Aigean Bay, Ca. in 1978.

From there the story will continue to evolve and we'll just have to see where these characters go in life.

Will 12 year old Susie grow up and realize her dream of one day marrying the much older Murphy O'Neil?

They are invaluable to me and help me gain perspective on what it means to be at this stage of life where taking care of my mother is a big part of what I do every day. However, Go Ask Alice...When She's 94 is not so much about my experience as it is about Alice's. I like sharing stories about spending time with my mother because she's rich in character, dignity, wit, and the kind of smarts you need in order to get to your ninth decade and still find things in life to enjoy.

We Know You're Out There!

In just seven months since beginning Words of Wisdom we have featured over 80 Bloggers of Note, and we couldn't be more pleased.

Most of our BONs, as they've come to be called, came to us on their own but many were nominated by others. The variety of writing styles and blog formats has been amazing. We have definitely tapped into a great reservoir of talent and been able to share it.

As of this writing we have many bloggers in line who will be featured in the upcoming weeks and months. But we want more! We want to see WOW continue to grow.

If this is your first time visiting Words of Wisdom and you're wondering what we are about, WOW is a place for bloggers who enjoy reading and writing great content to find each other.

By great content we mean blog posts that are thought-provoking and/or insightful. Blog posts that make the reader stop and think and maybe even feel compelled to "join the conversation" by leaving a well thought-out comment. These posts can be serious or humorous. Casondra is, first and foremost, a child of Christ. She is also a wife, a mother of four awesome kids, a sister, a daughter, a friend, an insulin depending diabetic, and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

She started Pieces of my Heaven on Earth to keep out-of-town family updated on her family happenings as well as her youngest daughter's medical care. Now it's turned into my place to collect photos of family recipes, devotionals/scripture that touches her life, weekly blog activities that she participates in, and her journey of finding out she had cancer through surgery and recovery.

In just six months since beginning Words of Wisdom we have featured over 70 Bloggers of Note, and we couldn't be more pleased.

Most of our BONs, as they've come to be called, came to us on their own but many were nominated by others. The variety of writing styles and blog formats has been amazing. We have definitely tapped into a great reservoir of talent and been able to share it.

As of this writing we have many bloggers in line who will be featured in the upcoming weeks and months. But we want more! We want to see WOW continue to grow.

If this is your first time visiting Words of Wisdom and you're wondering what we are about, WOW is a place for bloggers who enjoy reading and writing great content to find each other.

By great content we mean blog posts that are thought-provoking and/or insightful. Not only does she have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, she's a sometime puppeteer and she just gave birth to a brand new baby (a Wee Bloom) less than three weeks ago. Did this deter her from becoming BON today? Not at all. Her response? "...I think I could step up to the plate! Sure -- let's give it a go!" I told you she was amazing.

Tortuga is a teacher who loves (OK, is obsessed with) turtles and not just because they are her favorite animals. She also believes in the wisdom of turtles: they carry their homes with them,
they take their time getting where they want to go, and they rarely give up on their paths in life.

Blissed-Out Grandma is one of our original and most dedicated WOW members. It's so nice to see her finally have her day in the spotlight. She and her husband provide childcare for their grandchildren 5 days a week! As if that isn't impressive enough, she says that doing so has added more joy to her life. I love her attitude. She even has a motto for 2010: More bliss, less stress. Now that's a motto we can all strive to live by.

We Want More!!

In just four months since beginning Words of Wisdom we have featured over fifty Bloggers of Note, and we couldn't be more pleased.

Most of our BONs, as they've come to be called, came to us on their own but many were nominated by others. The variety of writing styles and blog formats has been amazing. We have definitely tapped into a great reservoir of talent and been able to share it.

As of this writing we have many bloggers in line who will be featured in the upcoming weeks and months. But we want more! We want to see WOW continue to grow.

If this is your first time visiting Words of Wisdom and you're wondering what we are about, WOW is a place for bloggers who enjoy reading and writing great content to find each other.

By great content we mean blog posts that are thought-provoking and/or insightful. Blog posts that make the reader stop and think and maybe even feel compelled to "join the conversation" by leaving a well thought-out comment. These posts can be serious or humorous. They can be about any topic. But what they have in common is content. Great content.
