Today's Blogger of Note is The Gnarly Oak.

Betwixt the oak and buckeyes and redwoods of Northern California one can find Ryan Griffiths, pen in hand, interpreting the nature around him. His memories and observations within those great hills have influenced him and his ideologies immensely; he hopes his writing and poetry will ignite your spark of the gnarly oak.

One Woman's Search for Meaning

Would you like to be highlighted or do you know someone who deserves to be BON? Contact us at ourwordsofwisdom@gmail.com and let us know.

Today's Blogger of Note is The Year of Living Virtuously (Weekends Off)

When Benjamin Franklin was in his twenties, he devised a list of thirteen virtues he intended to master. In his dotage, he viewed his youthful hubris with affection, noting that “I was surpris’d to find myself so much fuller of faults than I had imagined.”

Teresa is in midlife and has no illusion that moral perfection is within her grasp, but she's long been fascinated by how virtue and vice play out in our daily struggles. Hence, her year-long meditation on the search for meaning in an ordinary life.

A Daughter's Point of View

Would you like to be highlighted or do you know someone who deserves to be BON? Contact us at ourwordsofwisdom@gmail.com and let us know.

Today's Blogger of Note is Go Ask Alice...when she's 94.

I read a lot of blogs, and many of those I like are written by caregivers. They are invaluable to me and help me gain perspective on what it means to be at this stage of life where taking care of my mother is a big part of what I do every day. However, Go Ask Alice...When She's 94 is not so much about my experience as it is about Alice's. I like sharing stories about spending time with my mother because she's rich in character, dignity, wit, and the kind of smarts you need in order to get to your ninth decade and still find things in life to enjoy.

I hope you like finding out about Alice, her sisters, her friends and her impossible romance with the man she calls Mr. Fickle.

Happy reading,

Sandy & Pam

Through creative expression I also seek to document and highlight the plight of the world's poorest people with a view to raise awareness and generate resources to aid progressive initiatives in these communities that would mitigate their suffering and improve their living conditions.
