And the Nominees are...

Sandy and I are always trying to find new ways to improve WOW and make it a great place for bloggers of substance to meet each other and get the exposure they so richly deserve. Occasionally we may have WOW business or news to share with all of you. Today is one of those days. And in order to insure that all BONs receive a full two days of exposure, we have opted not to highlight a BON today. We apologize for that and we promise that on Wednesday we will back to our regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday BON schedule. We ask for your patience as we fine tune WOW.

We have noticed that many bloggers are still not sure if they qualify as a "blogger of substance." And from the comments left on many BONs posts, we've come to realize that many bloggers view the BON designation as an award presented by WOW. In light of this (and the fact that some of you have asked us in the past about nominations), we have decided that WOW will now take nominations for Bloggers of Note.

That's right. We are asking you to nominate other bloggers that you think deserve the title of BON. All you have to do is send us an email at ourwordsofwisdom@gmail.com and let us know about all your favorite "bloggers of substance". The blogs you love to read. The ones that make you think or laugh. You all know what we're looking for. And Sandy and I will do the rest. Of course, it is still absolutely acceptable for a blogger to become BON by sending us an email with a link to three of their own favorite/best posts. That has not changed. We are simply trying to cast a wider net.

We are really excited about this new WOW feature and hope you will all help us find those great blogs out there in the blogosphere. We know they're out there. All we need to do is find them. Will you help us?

Calling All Creative Writers and Photographers

As the second week of Words of Wisdom (WOW) comes to a close, we are happy to report that WOW continues to grow. If this is your first visit to WOW, our mission is to help “bloggers of substance” find each other. For more information, visit our Welcome Message.

In two weeks, not only do we have many people who visit WOW and the Blogger of Note (BON) daily, we have a list of bloggers who are interested in being BON that will take us through the next several months. To find out more about how to become a Blogger of Note, visit this page.

We never imagined how quickly WOW would take off. It’s obvious that the creation of such a network was long overdue. We appreciate your enthusiasm and the support and encouragement we have received.

Over these first two weeks we have been highlighting Bloggers of Note on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We expect to continue that schedule for the foreseeable future.

However, in addition to writing great “Blogs of Substance” we know that many people enjoy photography and creative writing (fiction, poetry, essays, etc.).

As a way to include those types of blogs and posts, in the next few weeks we will start a new feature to showcase and share Photography and Creative Writing posts. These blogs will be featured weekly on Sunday. Please check back next Sunday for more information.
