In honor of Memorial Day, we are departing from our regular format of featuring a Blogger of Note every Monday. We'll be back with a new BON on Wednesday.
American Patriotism is something I feel strongly about. Those of us who don't have anyone serving in the military need to remember those who are and the sacrifices made not only by the men and women in uniform but the enormous sacrifices made every day by their families.
I wanted to share two posts I have written recently on my blog, It's a Jungle Out There about some of those people. One is about the women fliers who served in World War II, and the other is my connection to a man who was a prisoner of war in Viet Nam.
This is also the last weekend in May; the unofficial beginning of summer. A time for graduations, weddings, cookouts, and vacations when many of us are fortunate enough to spend time with family and loved ones.
So if you are one of the lucky ones, please take a moment this weekend to stop and think about those men and women who served this country and especially think about those who are in uniform now who may be far away from home and family.
