Today's Blogger of Note is The Art of Living Positive.
Myda is a positive person who is rediscovering her passion for art and writing. And she hopes to inspire kids, teens and adults to develop their own positive attitudes and to realize that no one can take that away from them. The power of positive thinking. That is something I think we can all support.
Happy reading,
Sandy & Pam

Hi, I'm the first to comment today (well, it's still Sunday night here). Cheers!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, what a powerful mission! I would like to journey down that path!
ReplyDeleteread the post of the blogger of note. i think music is such an important force in our lives. my ex-husband's family didn't EVER listen to music. my folks urged us to get involved--learn an instrument, listen to all different types. i learned with my own children that singing and listening to songs was a great way to maintain some focus and control when things would get a little squirrelly. My ex-mother-in-law played games with her kids (especially word games) to keep her brood of 7 in line. it worked great too. point in--it's about interacting together with your kids. and doing things of quality. have a great day folks!!
ReplyDeleteAfter losing my mother 12 yrs ago then 3 days later was told my husband had brain cancer and only lived 2 months after mum's passing, I was very negative, but with help of poetry I couldput my feelings into words and felt a whole lot better, It has taken a long time to feel positive as I am today but this blog has helped also and the friends I have are wonderful in blogland.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I enjoyed her post about music, too, as I'm a big Enya fan.
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out in the next commercial break.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you! I am so excited and feel privileged to be chosen today. I hope I can touch at least one person and help them see their glass half full in difficult times.

happy monday everybody. have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe writer of that article had a good point. What we listen to, watch and surround ourselves with can have a big impact on our psyche and our souls. However, I feel that this argument can me used to discount certain kinds of music, films and literature as legitimate artforms. Maybe not. I hope people will not, for example, turn away from all rap music because there is some rap that is very positive and intellectually stimulating... Some movies, though violent, tell a good story and have great asthetic value. At times I feel there is value in all art, you just have to look at it through the right lens.
ReplyDeleteI've been known to be a "glass half full" kind of person so I am interested in reading what she has to say :-)
ReplyDeleteFrom where I sit, positive thinking is what gets me through life. We all have bad stuff going on and it's easy to want to slide into the "dark" side -- but at least when I look at things positively it helps. Like that song in "King and I" -- "when I fool the people I fear, I fool myself as well!
ReplyDeleteThe deepest pain is the greatest opportunity for growth. There is goodness in everything... even loss.
ReplyDeleteI used to listen to Enya on days when all I wanted to do was cry... I find it more peaceful now.
Sounds like just my kind of blog!!
ReplyDeleteHeading over now!

A really nice blog. I think we can all use a little more positive in our lives!
ReplyDeleteI just realized that I need to enjoy the here and now - especially the little things in life. I was getting too preoccupied with wishing the weather would warm up instead of enjoying a rainy afternoon since it doesn't happen very often or wish that the semester would hurry up and end...etc. I'm trying my best to apply this to all areas - although some times it is easier than others. My stress level has gone down significantly since I started thinking this way.
ReplyDeleteI'm a professor of music history and I'm here to tell you that music of all genres has the power to heal, motivate, soothe, energize, etc. Find what moves you and go with it!
=)

What a great BON. We could all use more positivity in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI like her theme! I'm thinking about trying to make my bed every day now, but I don't know if I can do it. For 33 years, I haven't been able to keep up that habit!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Carma...totally a glass half-full kinda gal. Accentuating the Positive is the perfect plan!
ReplyDeleteIt's still Monday right? Okay, so maybe we're all glad that it's not Monday still. Anyway, NOW I'm here.
ReplyDeleteGood work Myda, this looks like a great blogger community!
ReplyDeleteVery nice choice for BON :)
